'Nishka' ~ meaning 'honest'

Well, this is my girl! 

Born on 31st October 2016 from Echo's second and final litter, being her first female puppy. 

She is full of character and is my wingman. Her favourite things included walks, flirt pole, balls and her goughnut which is a permanent extension of her. In 2024 we also had our first go at Barn Hunt, which she is proving to thoroughly enjoy.

Nishka was sadly diagnosed with luxating patella which we have managed through strengthening exercises and as a result the decision was made not to breed from her and she was spayed.

I do not hide any conditions we have faced as it is important that people share their experiences so that issues are not 'doubled up on' with breeding. She was initially a grade 1, on one side, but this has worsened over the years.

As there was no patella scoring scheme prior to her being diagnosed we will never know if it was always present or if caused by injury. It was partly due to this lack of information that I set up the patella scoring scheme for SBT's in 2020, so no other breeder ever needs to have the same being unknown.

She does still have a great life and it doesn't present many problems, but it has meant she has not been able to do the canine athletics and certain exercise which she used to really enjoy and would love if still allowed. But we have to moderate her for her own good.

We tested her mum, sire and as many siblings as possible and have never found another case.
